Volume 4

Hello Snow, Hello Ice …Go AWAY!!!!!!!!

We looked out the window at the farm and were stunned by the 2 plus inches of snow and ice that had accumulated by late last night.  We are so grateful that we purchased over $2000.00 of row covers that protect the plants down to 26 degrees last week.  We put the last of them on Friday and will now continue to have great fall greens etc. right thru our last week in November.

This week full shares will be receiving a certified organic avocado from Florida.  In weeks to come all share holders will receive selected items from down south, principally avocados.  Organic avocados are hard to come by and are usually quite pricey.  Enjoy!

Regarding Corn: Our very own certified organic corn, husked, wormy end cut off and bagged for your immediate eating or freezing pleasure.  We are sure you will find this to be the best very late season corn you have ever had.  Wash and eat raw for a particularly sweet taste experience. Always eat corn raw if possible as cooking turns the natural sugar into starch. Still yummy but not quite as sweet and easy to digest.  Let us know what you think!

We think you will be pleasantly surprised by the variety this week even after this surprise winterish weather.  We have 2 big announcements to make!

  1. We are taking orders for winter shares starting next week. We are working on finalizing our winter drop-off locations and we will have definitive answers soon.
  2. We now have meat shares!!! Grass fed – 2 farms I know (Ashley) visited both of them last week.  One is in NH and one in Western MA. Beef and Pork available, sausage, etc.
  3. Also, awesome hard cheeses made from certified raw milk. Cheese varieties like – Gruyere, smoked Toma and 4-6 other varieties. Organically produced maple syrup from Maine and much more.

Look for more information soon right here! Also, certified organic citrus and other fruit made into boxes for holiday giving coming soon! WOW!

We need your input about the meat and cheese as well as the maple syrup. We are soon to sign  contracts with all of these suppliers for your benefit. Please let us know of your interest asap Call us or email to let us know of your desire to increase the offerings from our farm to you!
