Week 8

Greetings to one and all

This is week 8 of Heavens Harvest Farm Summer CSA 2010!

As we sit in the office with a cool breeze wafting across from one side of the house to the other we are stunned to consider that more than half of the summer CSA is over. We hope that you have enjoyed the wide variety and high quality of the produce provided this year.  We have received a recent email from a former member that we would like to insert at this time.

“Hi Ashley and Patty,

Made a big mistake this summer and tried a CSA closer to home.  The share contents and quantity have been disappointing.  That being said I’ll be back to Heaven’s Harvest…I have missed the overflowing shares.  I’d like to join for the Fall share.  Will you be delivering to Duxbury this Fall? I’m interested in your meat.  Where is that delivered, when, and what is the cost.

Thanks,

Share member”

This email is a perfect specimen of what happens when we are not aware of the true significance of what we are participating in.  It is hard to make qualitative judgements when you have either only one criteria to judge against or this is your first opportunity.  We are grateful for this former members assessment of the greater good found as part of our farm CSA. Just as there are different quality levels in purchasing almost any product.  This is certainly also true regarding CSA shares.  We endeavor to provide a well rounded, high quality share for each one of our 3 share sizes every week.  If you were to check us out against our local competition in each one of your areas you would make a reasonable assessment that we consistently place in the excellent strata of farm CSA’s. That being said we are not perfect and continue to work at providing the best that we are able under the circumstances granted for you and your family’s best nutritional well-being.

Please advise asap regarding meat shares, maple syrup, artisan cheese and especially the fall share which will be 9 weeks beginning the 3rd week of September.

Enjoy this beautiful vacation weather that is most awesome for producing fruits and vegetables here in New England.  Viva the Sun, the Rain and the lack of humidity. Ha!ha!

Shalom

-Ashley & Ethel
